BBC The Traitors at centre of ‘sexism’ storm as fans issue complaints over Minah remark: ‘Only wanting women!’
The Traitors fans have taken to social media to lodge complaints over the language used by contestant Minah last night.
On Wednesday, fans were treated to another round of murders and banishments as Fozia was figuratively killed off before Minah’s fellow Traitor Linda was sent packing at the roundtable.
Linda’s banishment meant host Claudia Winkleman only had one Traitor left on the show.
Retired opera singer Linda had followed in the footsteps of fellow banished Traitor Armani who was booted from the show by the cast of Faithfuls during this series’ opening episodes.
The self-proclaimed “sisterhood” also tried to employ Anna as a Traitor during last week’s episodes but she decided to turn them down and remain a Faithful.
The theme of keeping the Traitors an exclusively female collective has run throughout this year’s series but on Wednesday, Minah went one step too far according to some when explaining to Winkleman why she wanted to keep things that way.
Soon after Linda was banished, Winkleman informed Minah she would have to pick one of the Faithful to join her as a Traitor or they would be “murdered”.
Minah paid tribute to Linda when first coming face to face with Winkleman, telling the presenter her banished co-stat was “literally the sisterhood until the actual end”.
When discussing her thought process for picking a new Traitor, the 29-year-old said: “I only want to pick a female and I just feel like sisterhood means something.
“There was no like, backstabbing,” she added before whittling down her candidates to Charlotte, Frankie, or Lisa.
In the end, Minah opted for a face-to-face meeting with Charlotte but fans were left on an almighty cliffhanger as they await to see how the scenes play out.
However, several viewers were more concerned with calling Minah out for her supposedly “sexist” remarks after explicitly excluding the male contestants from her thinking.
“What a weirdly sexist comment from Minah about having to recruit a woman because they wouldn’t stab her in the back #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK,” one user complained on X.
A second similarly hit out: “This game is absolutely sexist! The blood sisterhood- give it a rest #TheTraitors.”
Elsewhere, another concurred: “It’s a bit sexist, Minah only wanting to pick a woman as a traitor. #TheTraitors.”
Meanwhile, a fourth poked fun at the seeming hypocricy of Minah’s comments: “‘Sisterhood means something, there was no backstabbing’.. you literally voted both of the women who were your colleagues out Minahh #TheTraitors.”

“I’m all for women power but they need a man traitor now.. #thetraitors,” a fifth urged before a sixth weighed in: “Minah’s whole women only thing is gonna cost her a deserved win, she had to pick jake there would’ve been perfect #TraitorsUK.”
Minah did receive support from others following her decision, however, with one X user wading into the debate to say: “This year, I am definitely supporting #TeamTraitors.
“I find Minah’s game play interesting and the Faithful have been really nasty to each other at times. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK.” (sic)
A BBC show spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by GB News about Minah’s remarks.
