ITV’s The Masked Singer star ‘storms off stage’ as celebrity refuses to unveil identity: ‘They were upset’

The Masked Singer reportedly descended into chaos recently after one contestant is believed to have “stormed off” after being axed from the show.

Typically, the disguised celebrity who has been voted out by judges then goes on to reveal their identity by removing their mask – but one person was too “upset”.

The bizarre gameshow returned to screens last week, with host Joel Dommett and panellists Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and new judge Maya Jama back to do some hilarious detective work as they attempt to predict who the secret celebrities could be.

One audience member, who was watching during a pre-recording of the show in September, has exposed a dramatic moment which saw one person rushing off the stage without unmasking.

“Usually the celeb with the lowest votes takes off their mask and then chats to the panel and sings again,” they explained.

“But instead this character turned around and shuffled off stage, which was hilarious in their costume obviously – but we were all stunned.”

Speaking to The Sun, they added: “We knew something was going on because we saw lots of to-ing and fro-ing with crew before the person eventually came back on stage.”

Host Dommett, 39, also recounted a celebrity leaving the share during filming, but went on to admit he wasn’t sure if the moment would make it to screens.

“One of the characters gets voted off and they are really not happy about it. Like genuinely,” he recalled.

“They were really upset that they did not win it. There’s something hilarious about seeing someone in a massive costume storm off. What they’re gonna show of it, I have no idea.”

Speaking to Principle Magazine, he concluded: “But even if they don’t show it, I know, and that’s amazing.”

The celebrity and disguise they are using hasn’t yet been revealed, and it’s currently unknown whether or not the scenes will air.

Meanwhile, the show has seen fans racing to share theories of their own about who could be behind the masks this year.

During Sunday night’s show, Pufferfish made their debut on the stage to sing Good Luck, Babe, by Chappell Roan.

The character’s VT, as always, included a cryptic set of clues, but many watching at home seemed to land on the same person in their prediction.

In the background, a rubber spider was shown in close-up on the unknown star’s hairbrush, with the panel thinking this could suggest a link to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Pufferfish also caught an American football in the VT, which was one of a few clues that had the judges suspecting she is from the US before adding: “The Empire State is just too hard to miss out on”.

The secret star also threw a pair of dice that landed on a five and six, suggesting a possible link with a game show and said: “It runs in the family”.

Many believed the celebrity could be Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of Britney Spears, and many agreed in online speculation.

Fans will have to wait for this weekend’s episode to see who the next elimination and revelation will be.
