22 Kids and Counting’s Millie Radford sets record straight on whether she’ll copy parents with vast family size

Millie Radford has addressed the possibility of following in her parents’ footsteps now that she’s the mum of three young children.

The 23-year-old and her husband Harley Passmore welcomed their youngest child Elodie in September 2023 and fans have been given a glimpse into the family adapting to their new way of life in Channel 5’s 22 Kids and Counting.

The series predominantly centres on Millie’s mum and dad, Noel and Sue Radford, as they juggle the day to day rigmarole of caring for such a vast array of children.

However, as their children have grown up, viewers have gotten a glimpse into how the older siblings have adapted to life as parents themselves, with Millie no exception.

In fact, the latest series has been aptly renamed 22 Kids and A Wedding with the new episodes documenting the build-up and aftermath of Millie and Harley’s nuptials.

Millie, Harley, Noel, Sue and several of the brood appeared on Thursday’s This Morning to discuss the new series and tease what was in store – although hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were keen to hear if the Radford family would be welcoming even more new additions soon.

Alongside their three children Chester, Ellie and Ophelia, Harley was first asked if it was “overwhelming” marrying in to such a vast family.

“To be honest, it’s not even that bad,” Harley answered with a chuckle. “(They’re) very loving people, very welcoming, very nice and yeah. My house is more crazy than the Radfords.”

Before long, Deeley put Millie and her sister Katie on the spot as to whether they’d been inspired by their own parents to pursue vast families of their own.

“I guess the big question is, Katie and Millie, are you going to emulate the size of your mum’s (family)?” the ITV host asked before being promptly cut off by Millie.

“No! No,” the Channel 5 star replied. “Every time it’s crazy in our house we always say to each other, ‘Why did my mum ever have more than three?’

“I will never have more than three, that’s just enough. With the two you’ve got a hand for each of them but with three you really don’t have that spare hand so -“

“But you’re not ruling it out Harley?” Shephard chimed in to which Millie’s other half replied: “In the future maybe, but not right now, no.

“All of the kids are in nursery and Elodie starts next year so I feel like, it gives us a bit of our time as well.”

Deeley pointed out that if he were to follow in Sue and Noel’s footsteps, he’d be laboured with last-minute dashes to the shops for urgent groceries.

After Noel and Sue detailed the vast amounts of milk and bread their brood got through, Deeley quizzed whether they may also contemplate more children as Sue approaches her 50th birthday.

“No, no! Definitely not, no,” Sue emphatically replied before conceding: “I did (say that before), I’ve said it since…”

“A long time ago,” Noel joked. “We said when you got to 40 we wouldn’t have anymore and I don’t know how many we’ve had since then.”
