Tulisa sets record straight after deleting ITV I’m A Celebrity from social media as she breaks silence: ‘Overwhelmed’

Tulisa, 36, has addressed exactly why she appears to be distancing herself from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! following her exit earlier this week.

The singer became the third campmate evicted from the jungle on Monday and appeared in high spirits when speaking to Ant and Dec soon after.

The same could be said for an interview she conducted with Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled talk show the following morning.

However, soon after her immediate press duties, Tulisa decided to turn down an appearance on the spin-off show Unpacked for “personal reasons”.

And fans soon grew concerned after noticing all traces of I’m A Celeb promo materials had been wiped from the musician’s Instagram page.

Tulisa returned to the social media platform on Wednesday morning to break her silence on the incident and explain exactly what was going on.

“Hi guys, I’m just doing a little video to clear a couple things up,” she began. “Just so you know, when I came out of the jungle, I felt fine first of all…

“And then that evening, my friends went to bed, I was on my Instagram just trying to have a nice little casual scroll at some funny stuff or the stuff I like to watch.

“I was getting a lot of attention, a lot of bombarding, in the most positive way. But because it’s been a bit of a while for me, I can get overwhelmed quite easily and I just started to feel a little bit overwhelmed.

“I thought, ‘Do you know what, I really just need to take a bit of time for me and just chill, this is all feeling just a little bit much at the moment’.”

Addressing the deleting of social media content, she continued: “‘I’m going to archive all my stuff to do with the jungle and when the time is right and I’ve had a little time to process, I’m gonna make my own of with all my best bits that I really like’.

“Remember, I haven’t been doing my Instagram – the way everything’s posted and all the random stuff is not the way I would do my Insta. I would have one or two really good Reels relating to the jungle and bringing together my time in there.

“But I just wanted to clear up the reasons why that I did that – and just be honest.”

Turning her attention to her reaction to being thrust back into the limelight, she admitted: “It’s okay to feel a little bit overwhelmed. I’ve been out of the spotlight for a long time and I’m still trying to overcome those things. I’ve still got my little demons.

“It doesn’t mean I’m going to go and hide back under a rock for another 10 years, it just means I need a little bit of time to just process and get right with my thoughts.”

Clearing the air and revealing there’s no bad blood between her and ITV, she added: “Thank you to ITV and to I’m A Celeb for being really understanding and patient with me. Mental health is important and I am super grateful for all the love and support that I’ve had. I just get a bit overwhelmed.

“I’m a bit of an introvert, guys – I’ve been in a jungle with people I’d only just met for two and a half weeks straight and then I’ve come out, seen loads and loads of attention, and I’m like woah, this is a lot. I just needed a bit of a breather.”

Tulisa also slapped down reports and reaction to her Lorraine interview in which some fans interpreted her answers as implying her campmates were “fake”.

Tulisa defiantly said: “Also, I just want to clarify, I do not think that any of my campmates are fake. I was having a conversation on Lorraine and what I was trying to say is – typical me just thinking out loud – that everyone in there is gonna have one or two individuals that they’re way more close with than others and when we get out is when you’re gonna see those friendships get nurtured and the people that real become your friends for life.

“I’m gonna be friends with everyone, I love my jungle buddies, but there’s gonna friendships that people have that will be nurtured and they will be friends for life, that’s all I was trying to say.”

Tulisa then revealed she’d be lying low for the next week to “be one with her thoughts”.
