Amanda Owen shares rare snaps of son Reuben Owen as she celebrates milestone birthday
Amanda Owen gave fans an insight into the life of young Reuben Owen before their days on their Channel 5 and Channel 4 series, as they celebrated his 21st birthday.
Owen, her ex-husband Clive and her nine children are currently working together on renovating their new farmhouse – Anty John’s.
Currently tenants on Ravenseat farm, the family are establishing their roots in the neighbouring farm to make it another permanent home for the family.
As they continue to build their new home – which is being aired on their new show on More4 – the family has taken a moment to celebrate Reuben’s 21st birthday.
Posting a series of images on Instagram, Owen captioned: “A snapshot of a few of Reubens’s previous thrills and spills for him to enjoy on his 21st birthday.
“His love & devotion to all things horsepower is laid bare. #happybirthday #21 #farm #outdoors #countryside.”
Fans of the family were quick to wish the youngster their best, as one penned: “Congratulations Reuben! Enjoy your 21st!”
“My favourite farm lady and her 21-year-old son Reuben…what a man,” another noted before a third expressed: “Happy birthday Reuben watching you yesterday keep doing what you love doing.”
A fourth said: “Happy Birthday Reuben! We’re enjoying the new series, good to see you all back on screen.”
“Happy 21st birthday Reuben enjoy your special day,” someone else wrote before a sixth praised: “Love your family. Happy birthday Reuben.” (sic)
Whilst the family have been celebrating his birthday, Owen has been left disappointed with the renovations.
Due to “horrific” weather their work was put on hold, leaving the star to open up about the roadblock in a recent episode of the show.
She explained: “I feel a bit helpless because there’s not actually a lot I can do. It’s going so slowly at the moment. We come back and it’s like, ‘What’s been done? A few more slate (roof tiles)’.
“I’m getting messages from electricians and heating engineers and of course Phillip the joiner. They want to know (when they can start). I need it to move on.”
Ex-husband Clive also became worried about the renovations and said: “It’s been a struggle all winter with this roof. And we’re still struggling.”
He added that all the farm’s workers were “up to have a go” and hoped that would speed things along as spring approached.

Head builder Richard was less confident, suggesting the upcoming April lambing season would pull attention from the refurbishment.
“We’re going to be losing Steven (farmer and roofer) because he’s got his sheep to look after at lambing time. Clive and Amanda, they’re going to be busy.
“All tools will get dropped. They’ll run like rats from a sinking ship. You won’t see them for six weeks.”
