Other concerned fans sent their well wishes, before someone else wrote: “The only days I watch is when you’re on! Disappointed you won’t be there but hope you get well soon sir!”
Over the weekend, Stephen was joined by former Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Rippon to host the show.
In a video released by Stephen, he said: “For just one morning the broadcast and Strictly star joins the breakfast team to bring you all the news as it happens.”
He also posted an excited video on Instagram and captioned it: “This is coming Sunday morning on GB News Breakfast.”
Rippon’s former Strictly partner Kai Widdrington also paid the pair a visit, leaving Stephen to post on his X account: “Fun morning on @GBNEWS. Great to be working with @TheAngelaRippon again and to meet @Kaiwidd.”
The sudden illness this week comes after the star after his many trips to A&E back in March.
Whilst discussing Labour MP Clive Lewis’ apology for an “outburst” after he was heard swearing in the Commons chamber, Stephen expressed: “We all know people swear.
“We all swear. It’s just a case of where and when. I’ve spent most of this week, for various reasons, in A&E for several days on the trot with different people.
“And then when I was there on Thursday, the language in there from some of the patients who were waiting to be seen was appalling.”
While he didn’t expand on the reasons for his hospital trips he did let out a wry laugh while discussing it so it isn’t thought to be anything too serious.
Stephen has previously been open about his battle with type one diabetes and previously said: “I have been a Type 1 diabetic since I was 17 which has been a challenge but a really positive one.
“It has never occurred to me to let it get in my way but it has to be respected. It gives me a great insight into my own health and a really enjoy talking about the technology which help keeps me going.
“It’s an exciting field to have a passion in, even if it wasn’t by my own choosing.”
