Dianne Buswell inundated with support as she issues dad Mark health update days after sparking concern with worrying post
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has shared an update about her dad’s health, just days after she shared over the weekend that he was in hospital.
The 35-year-old Australian dancer received a flood of support last week after sharing a photo of her dad, who made an appearance on last year’s BBC Strictly to support her, smiling in a hospital bed.
In 2023, she also shared that her dad Mark had undergone treatment for cancer, so worried fans were quick to pen supportive messages in the comments section.
On Thursday, Buswell provided an update about her dad, whom she’d flown out to Australia to be with.
In the snap, Buswell and her parents are all smiles, still in a hospital, with Mark having undergone surgery.
However, the update was thankfully positive as the choreographer wrote a celebratory caption.
It read: “And he’s up and walking around the ward like a champion after his heart surgery.
“My poor dad has had a tough 18 months but in true Buswell style has shown strength and resilience.”
Not ignoring her mother, the statement continued: “And my beautiful mum who has been the saviour in it all she is by his side 24/7 and has been a little trooper you are one of a kind mum.
“Love you both and I feel so lucky I was able to be here with you both @mark.3802 @rinabuswell.”
A second photo showed Mark smiling as Buswell snapped a selfie with him from his hospital bed.
In the picture, Mark is sporting a hat that reads: “Chris & Dianne,” a nod to last year’s Strictly series in which his daughter went on to win alongside comedian Chris McCausland.
