Paul Danan death: Big Brother’s Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace leads celeb statements as reality TV star dies aged 46
Tributes have been flooding in for Hollyoaks star Paul Danan after the news of his death shocked many of his former co-stars and friends.
The actor, who played Sol Patrick in Hollyoaks and appeared in the original series of Celebrity Love Island in 2005, was also known for his stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.
Danan had recently battled health issues and suffered from a respiratory failure in June last year due to what was described as “obsessive” use of vapes.
During his week in intensive care, he contracted pneumonia, with his family being warned “he might not make it.”
Speaking about the incident, Danan had said: “I’m so lucky. The doctor was so, so harsh with me. She told me if I ever smoke in any form again I risk being linked to an oxygen tank later on in life.”
His agent released a statement on Instagram and described Danan as “a beacon of light to so many.”
“Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many,” the statement read.
“His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.”
The statement requested privacy for Danan’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
Tributes flooded in quickly on social media, with TV personality Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace expressing her shock and grief.
