Jowita Przystal shares supportive gesture to Pete Wicks over new project away from BBC Strictly
Jowita Przystal has shared a show of support for her Strictly Come Dancing partner, Pete Wicks, after he took on a new project which saw him immersed in his “happy place”.
Dog lover and former The Only Way is Essex (Towie) star Wicks, 37, has taken part in a series following some of the four-legged friends residing at Dogs Trust.
Wicks, who became close friends with dancer Przystal, 30, during the latest series of the BBC competition, and it seems their friendship remains strong as the choreographer shared a supportive message with the reality star.
It came as Wicks shared a preview clip of his new show, Pete Wicks For Dogs’ Sake.
The caption of the post, also shared on the charity Dogs Trust’s page, read: “Here he is, in his absolute element! Bailey and Pete meet tonight in brand new Pete Wicks For Dogs’ Sake.”
The heartwarming clip showed a Dog Trust employee showing Wicks around as he was introduced to golden retriever Bailer.
“Pete I would love you to meet Bailey,” the guide commented, to which he responded gleefully: “I love a retriever!”
Barely containing his excitement, he asked: “Can I go in?” and was told “of course you can”.
As Bailey bounced around at Wicks’ feet, delighted to share his company, the Towie star beamed: “Hello puppy, what is it? Hello, mate. Oh yeah, is that nice?”
“This is Bailey. He’s about a year-and-a-half old,” the volunteer explained as Wicks commented: “Oh, you’re only a baby still?” as he stroked the energetic pup.
As Bailey cuddled up to Wicks and brought him his toys, he reflected: “I’m genuinely… I’m never happier than when there’s a dog by my side.
“This is 100 percent my happy place,” before he continued to pet the adorable pooch, asking “Aw, is that nice?”
However, Wicks unfortunately had more pressing things to be doing, and was reminded: “[We’ve] got things for you to do, Pete.
“Can’t sit around here all day cuddling dogs. Get out of there!”
Przystal shared her pride in her friend, taking to the comments section to shared: “Absolutely loved every second of the first episode. well done @p_wicks01 and team @dogstrust_basildon you are superstars.”
The series sees Wicks meeting dogs being cared for by the UK’s leading dog charity, Dogs Trust.
