Davina McCall flooded with support as she shows off scar from brain tumour operation in first haircut video

Davina McCall has shown fans her brain surgery scar during her first haircut since undergoing an operation to remove a benign tumour last month.

The 57-year-old TV presenter revealed the healing wound during an Instagram Live session on Saturday evening, where her partner Michael Douglas gave her a trim.

The couple appeared in good spirits as they filmed the intimate moment, with Douglas offering styling tips to viewers whilst tending to McCall’s hair.

The former Big Brother host explained she wanted some pampering before hosting friends for the evening.

McCall seemed to be recovering well from her recent surgery as she smiled and joked throughout the livestream with her hairdresser boyfriend of five years.

During the livestream, McCall showed where she had “lost a big chunk” of hair near her surgical site, noting “it’s all healed, it’s a bit crusty.”

The couple shared playful moments as Douglas worked on her hair, with him remarking: “People think you’ve got really thick hair but it’s actually quite thin.”

This prompted a shocked “What!?” from McCall, who explained: “I used to have lots of hair but I had babies.”

At one point, McCall winced as Douglas pulled her hair, leading to a cheeky exchange where he quipped: “I was a bit rough there – she normally likes it rough.”

“Michael Douglas you are naughty,” McCall responded.

The session ended on a lighthearted note, with McCall joking she should “have brain surgery more often” after complimenting her partner’s styling work.

After sharing the update with their social media followers, McCall and Douglas were soon inundated with supportive comments.

TV presenter and John Torode’s other half Lisa Faulkner – who recently used her platform to share her thoughts on Gregg Wallace’s MasterChef replacement – replied to the video with the message: “I love you both,” followed by a series of love heart emojis.

Elsewhere, one fan happily typed: “You are both so sweet together. Definitely made for each other.” (sic)

McCall discovered she had a benign brain tumour, known as a colloid cyst, after receiving a complimentary health scan in return for giving a menopause talk.

The rare condition affects just three in a million people, and the TV presenter underwent surgery on November 15.

Following the operation, Douglas shared that the procedure had been “textbook” and McCall was recovering in ICU as a precaution.

In a recent emotional update, McCall revealed she was “feeling a lot more myself” though noted her short-term memory had been affected.

“My sense of gratitude is growing by the day, I’m crying a bit less which is good. I’m really looking forward to Christmas,” she told followers.

The presenter plans to return to work in mid-January after taking time to recuperate.

Douglas, 50, and McCall have been together since 2019, though their connection spans two decades.
