“Freezing This Christmas”, a parody of Mud’s “Lonely This Christmas”, has garnered 1.6 million views on YouTube.

The song, performed by the fictional band “Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers”, has topped the Apple iTunes download chart.

The parody was written by Chris Middleton, a 33-year-old freelance writer from Newcastle, who composed the lyrics in just one hour.
