Coleen Rooney leaves ITV I’m A Celebrity fans ‘dying’ as they spot ‘subtle’ Rebekah Vardy dig during finale
Coleen Rooney appeared to make a subtle dig at her former rival Rebekah Vardy during Sunday night’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! final.
The WAG, who finished as runner-up to Danny Jones, made the quip during her exit interview with hosts Ant and Dec.
During her exit interview with the Geordie duo, they picked up on how quickly she was able to uncover a secret camp twist.
When Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Cole first entered the show, they were put into a separate camp where they were given luxuries – but had to lie about their living conditions.
Dean McCullough was later brought into the Jungle Junkyard and was in on the secret, with the trio pretending to sleep on the floor and survive without food, when they actually had access to beds, a cooker and even a jacuzzi.
After visiting the camp on numerous occasions, Rooney became suspicious of their behaviour and managed to uncover the truth about their secret challenge.
When discussing how she had uncovered the secret, Rooney told McPartlin and Donnelly: “I’m good at sniffing things out” – a comment that viewers quickly connected to her previous “Wagatha Christie” drama.
Fans of the WAG quickly took to social media to point out the apparent reference to her previous feud with Vardy.
“Loved her subtle dig during her chat with Ant & Dec saying ‘I’m good at sniffing things out,'” one viewer wrote.
Another commented: “Coleen and her little subtle ‘I’m quite good at sniffing things out.'”
A third penned: “Was that a little dig towards your number one fan Becky Vardy there Col? Haha! I’m dying”
“Was it just me that thought of Rebekah Vardy when Coleen said she was good at sniffing things out?” someone else asked.
The comment referenced their high-profile “Wagatha Christie” legal battle, which ended in July 2022 when a High Court judge found Rooney’s social media post about Vardy “substantially true”.
Vardy was ordered to pay up to £1.5million in legal fees.
Despite losing the legal battle, Vardy has seemed to stick herself back into the spotlight after writing a column about I’m A Celebrity for The Sun newspaper.
She recently expressed glee at seeing Rooney fall into the river twice during the series, describing it as “the gift that keeps on giving”.
