BBC Strictly fans ‘gutted’ as semi-final results LEAK hours before results show as final four stars confirmed
Strictly Come Dancing fans have been reacting in droves to the news of who missed out on a spot in next weekend’s grand finale.
After Saturday evening’s semi-final, the likes of Sarah Hadland, JB Gill, Pete Wicks, Tasha Ghouri and Chris McCausland could only wait with bated breath to discover whether it was them heading home.
On the night, Wicks and his dance partner Jowita Pzrystal finished bottom of the leaderboard following the judges’ scores, receiving 32 for their Foxtrot and 33 for their Argentine Tango.
The TOWIE star was narrowly behind McCausland and Dianne Buswell on the leaderboard as they raked in scores of 33 and 36 for their Charleston and Viennese Waltz, respectively.
Occupying third spot were Hadland and Vito Coppola who were awarded scores of 36 apiece for their Tango and Jive, while Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec missed out on the top spot after raking in 35 and 40 for their Salsa and Waltz.
Ending the semi-final in top spot was Gill and his partner Lauren Oakley as they only just missed out on two perfect scores of 40 after Craig Revel Horwood deemed their Paso Doble only worthy of a nine.
Following their performances, as is the norm on the BBC show, the results show was recorded in order for it to be shown the following evening.
And not for the first time, this has left the dance competition vulnerable to leaks.
Throughout Sunday morning, Strictly fans on social media have been sharing and analysing the results of the semi-final dance-off after they emerged online before tonight’s results show.
GB News won’t be revealing the identity of the celebrity or their gender, but it’s safe to say those who’ve seen the leak have been left rather divided by the result.
“I’m gutted,” one fan said in response to the leak on X, formerly Twitter. “[NAME REMOVED] has done so extremely well. [NAME REMOVED] for the win now!”
Meanwhile, a second fumed at the dance-off couples as they typed: “[NAME REMOVED] being in the dance off is wrong but so happy [NAME REMOVED] gone.”
“They’re really letting [NAME REMOVED] get through aren’t they,” a third criticised. “[NAME REMOVED] shouldn’t have been any where near the dance off. It should have been [NAME REMOVED] v. [NAME REMOVED].”
Elsewhere, a fourth welcomed the result: “I’m SO SO relieved that [NAME REMOVED] in the final!! [NAME REMOVED] deserved it!!”
“So pleased for [NAME REMOVED] and [NAME REMOVED] though,” a fifth expressed. “Gutted for [NAME REMOVED].”
And a sixth unhappy fan hit out: “That’s rubbish! [NAME REMOVED] deserved to make it to the final.”
