Davina McCall issues sweet tribute to brain surgeon as she admits ‘I gave him a scare’ after tumour operation

Davina McCall has given another update since her brain tumour surgery and publicly thanked her surgeon for being “amazing”.

Back in November, the star revealed she was undergoing surgery after a brain tumour was found and needed to be removed.

McCall had been giving a talk for a menopause company when the tumour was found, having initially been confident she would “ace” her health check.

The surgery was performed to remove a 14mm benign brain tumour, which was discovered unexpectedly during a health scan.

Ever since her successful surgery, the star has been updating her fans about her recovery and recently admitted she was getting “stronger and stronger” every day.

In a recent video she posted to her Instagram, she penned: “Thank you so much @brain.surgeon.uk Kevin, I owe you …. So much.

“Thank you thank you thank you…. I’m so pleased it’s gone … I feel so immensely grateful. You know u r going to have to post something on your page now.

“I’ve invited you to collaborate on this post, if u accept it will go on your page #colloidcyststs.”

She further elaborated in the video and said: “Hi! I thought I’d do a little catch-up post and I am going to out my surgeon. He is called Kevin O’Neil and he has been amazing.

“Obviously trying to find somebody that knew about colloid cysts and stuff was quite a challenge and Kevin came in as very experienced as a neurosurgeon and he’d done another colloid cyst this year and he has been brilliant.

Got the whole thing and I know I gave him and Mike a bit of a scare straight after the op because I was so confused but I am doing so well now.

“I just wanted to thank him and all the team for taking such really good care of me. Thank you and yeah, I am going to take you and the Mrs out for an amazing dinner.”

McCall was inundated with support on her post, with one commenting: “Smile and the world smiles with you. You shine!”

“Yesss, so amazing to hear you’re doing so well!” another added before a third said: “So good to see you recovering so well !! Love you!”

Someone else expressed: “You look and sound amazing x So happy it all went so well and you were looked after like the queen you are. Keep resting. Keep healing. Keep being you.”

A fifth noted: “So beautiful you are expressing gratitude to your surgeon and his team. Glad it was just a scare and you are in the mend.”
