Sarah Hadland dealt brutal blow just hours before BBC Strictly quarter-final as worrying data emerges

Strictly Come Dancing star Sarah Hadland could have her hopes of lifting the Glitterball trophy crushed as concerning data has emerged.

Across the last 10 weeks, Hadland and partner Vito Coppola have put on stunning performances with extravagant lifts and often ended up near the top of the leaderboard.

As the show progressed, Hadland emerged as one of the favourites to win the whole competition – however, Tasha Ghouri seems to have pipped her at the post.

According to Lucky Block, Hadland has been leapfrogged by the Love Island star who now has odds of 10/1 to win the competition – leaving the Miranda star batting second place with 9/2.

However, comedian Chris McCausland is still the favourite to win the series with odds of 2/7 – whilst also making Strictly history by being the first blind contestant.

Lee Astley, spokesperson for Lucky Block, said: “This year’s Strictly winner appeared to be a foregone conclusion with Chris McCausland miles ahead in the betting, but Tasha Ghouri’s stunning perfect 40 in Saturday’s show has made her a serious contender late on in the series.

“Tasha is 9/2 from 10/1 and now occupies second place in the betting, with McCausland’s price easing from 1/5 to 2/7.

“At the other end of the scale, Pete Wicks once again survived by the skin of his teeth but seems highly likely to depart the show this weekend, trading at 4/7 to be the next contestant eliminated.”

This weekend, Hadland and Coppola will be performing the Charleston to Popular from Wicked, which left viewers erupting into a “favouritism” row.

On the show’s official Instagram, a post revealed the musical number each couple will be performing for the episode.

The announcement read: “Please take your seats for #Strictly Musicals Week! Get ready for a dazzling line-up of tunes and routines!”

The beloved theatre show was adapted into a film which was released last Friday, and sees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande transform into the roles of Galinda and Elphaba.

Due to the popularity rise within the film, Strictly bosses took full advantage of the film release and gave Hadland and Coppola a chance to cash in.

However, Strictly viewers have argued Hadland has an unfair advantage, with some going on to argue the star is frequently given well-known songs to perform to as a result of “favouritism”.

In the comment section, one person penned: “Oh look, Sarah and Vito are given a song from probably the biggest musical about just now as the film has just come out.

“They have never had a dodgy theme or song this whole season. The favouritism is clear in my opinion.”

In response, another wrote: “I agree 100%. Other contestants get inappropriate songs for their dances or not as popular or powerful. Good song makes a lot of difference.”

One added: “Have a look back at all her song choices and themes. Harry Potter, a song that meant something to her and her child, Dolly Parton, Madonna, Kylie, Proud, the song she had last week. Think that says it all really.”

However, others disagreed and expressed their excitement to see their performance, as one penned: “Personally I do think they’ll do a great job of it though.”

Another Instagram user responded: “Sara & Vito are going to provide another ICONIC performance for us.” (sic)
