Rebekah Vardy issues warning to Ant and Dec over ‘own scandals’ as I’m A Celebrity ramps up
Rebekah Vardy has hit back at I’m a Celebrity presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after they made a joke about her on the show’s opening episode.
Vardy, 42, has been locked in a feud with Coleen Rooney, 38, who is one of the celeb contestants braving the jungle this year.
As news was announced one half of “Wagatha Christe” would enter the jungle, speculation on the potential fallout grew.
The Geordie hosting duo found referencing the well-documented legal dispute between the pair irresistible in the debut episode.
Introducing the various contestants, Donnelly joked: “Of course we’ve got Coleen Rooney. It’ll be nice for Coleen to face a trial that doesn’t involve Rebekah Vardy.”
McPartlin giggled and added: “Wahay!”
Vardy was quick to respond, slamming the pair for their “lame jokes.”
“Easy tigers” she warned and reminded them of their own “fair share of scandals in the past”.
Continuing to poke fun at the presenters, she questioned: “Who writes their scripts anyway?”
Issuing one final warning, the 42-year-old advised “people in glass houses not to throw stones”.
The 42-year-old did praise the opening episode as “fantastic” but also could not resist taking a dig at her rival WAG.
“Did I mention Coleen sank her boat twice? Oh dear,” Vardy snipped, referencing Rooney’s performance in one of the show’s first trials.
“It’s the gift that keeps on giving,” she added in a video for The Sun.
Rooney herself opened up about the feud on the show – describing the “draining” court case as her “worst nightmare”.
“I felt ashamed going to court. I’m not that type to play things out in the public,” the 38-year-old admitted to her campmates.
She explained: “I just felt like it was putting a whole show on for the whole world. I didn’t want that.”
