Alan Halsall makes dating admission on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity after ex-wife ‘sets record straight’ on relationship

Alan Halsall opened up on his marriage to fellow Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson on Tuesday’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The long-term ITV soap star talked candidly about relationships of the reality show when the subject came up, with the conversation coming just days after his ex was forced to “set the record straight”.

As the campmates talked about romance, Dean McCullough commented: “I actually do enjoy being single, I enjoy being on my own.”

Agreeing, Tyrone Dobbs star Halsall reflected on his divorce from Hudson, who played Katy Harris for three years in the soap.

The couple split in 2018 after getting married in 2009. They share a young daughter, Sienna-Rae, 11.

“Lucy left Corrie in about 2005, then we got married in 2009. We then split up after Sienna was born,” Halsall told his campmates.

Talking about his current love life, he admitted: “I love what I’ve got, even now I’m on my own I love just being dad. I’ve never done dating apps.”

McCullough was stunned to hear the actor, 42, hadn’t used dating apps before, which sparked Tulisa Contostavlos to share her views.

“I’ve only done Raya [celebrity dating app],” she explained, adding: “I’m not really a dater, even though I’ve been on there, I’ve never gone on an actual date with anyone on there… I’m proper guarded.”

The former X Factor judge and N Dubz star continued: “I feel like I’m demisexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.”

“You need meaning babe,” McCullough replied, to which Contostavlos added: “I need actual depth. I’m a slow, slow burner, I’ve been celibate for over three years.”

Halsall’s relationship admission comes soon after his ex-wife shared a social media post addressing rumours about the two not being on good terms.

Stating she wanted to “put the record straight,” actor Hudson shared a video on Instagram where she explained: “”First of all, me and my ex have been divorced seven years.

“I actually can’t believe it’s a topic of conversation because it’s pretty boring.”

She continued: “We share Sienna 50/50. We communicate. She’s a happy kid. We get on great.

“We have to work out weekends – what we’re swapping, certain days he wants, certain days I want.
