Penny Lancaster sets record straight as she shares rare insight into Rod Stewart marriage: ‘Life gets busy’
Penny Lancaster’s marriage to Rod Stewart has been the subject of “split” rumours recently, with reports suggesting the couple have drifted apart over housing disagreements.
Stewart, 79, has spoken out to quash the speculation, and Lancaster now made her very stance clear as she gushed over her partner of 27 years.
After nearly three decades together and a 17-year marriage, the two seem as strong as ever with the sweet displays of affection they sometimes share on social media.
When reports swirled about Stewart wanting to stay living in the US and Lancaster, 53, being upset about not making a permanent move back to the UK, the Maggie May hit-maker affirmed the rumours were untrue with a lengthy Instagram statement.
Offering some pearls of wisdom about the secrets to a long and happy marriage, Lancaster seemed as loved-up as ever on Thursday.
“It’s just paying attention to detail. It’s understanding somebody and their needs and what they like and showing up for them and what brought you together in the beginning,” she shared on ITV’s Loose Women.
Continuing, she added: “I know life gets really busy but it’s those little tiny glimmers.”
Expressing how enamoured she remains with Stewart, she went on: “Sometimes I look across the crowded room at him.
“He did write a song for me. We’re still very much in love.”
The former model’s co-star Mylene Klass backed up her claims, explaining she had witnessed first-hand the mutual love the couple shares.
“I sat at a table with you guys and you only have eyes for each other,” she beamed.
“They’re like school kids, they’re adorable!” she added, with speculation about a rift between the couple firmly put to bed.
The rumours began as a source claimed the two had reached a “stalemate” over their Beverly Hills home.
An insider told the Daily Mail: “Penny has no plans to return to LA, which she’s not a fan of, while Rod has no plans to move back right now. They’re at a stalemate and Penny is angry that Rod’s gone back on his word. It’s about saving their marriage right now.”
Stewart didn’t waste any time in shutting down the rumours, stating in August: “There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact, it’s the opposite.
“We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit. Originally, we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA.
