Jeremy Clarkson hints he could quit Clarkson’s Farm following ‘terrifying’ doctor advice after heart operation
Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he’s facing the worrying prospect of giving up a handful of his work projects as he continues to recover from a heart operation.
Following a “sudden deterioration” in his health earlier this month, which manifested itself in chest pains and pins and needles in his arm, Clarkson sought medical attention and ended up having two stents put into his heart.
Since returning home, girlfriend Lisa Hogan has provided positive updates about her other half adjusting back to life at Diddly Squat, while Kaleb Cooper has told fans he’s regularly checking in on his co-star.
Clarkson has reassured fans he’s on the mend too via his regular newspaper columns but in his latest for The Sun on Friday, he’s admitted his new way of life is slightly “scary”.
Following the operation, Clarkson has been told to amend his lifestyle – a lifestyle that he admits wasn’t the cleanest or healthiest.
Clarkson claimed he lived in a “blizzard of hangovers and jet lag for 30 years”, would smoke 60 cigarettes a day from the age of 14, and would regularly exceed the government guidelines for safe alcohol consumption.
Now though, with Clarkson admitting he’d like to live longer to watch his grandchildren grow up among other things, the Grand Tour star has been told to cut all of that out – along with meat consumption.
As Clarkson put it in his latest column: “I am not allowed to have fun anymore. I must live in a Liberal Democrat, holier-than-thou fog of weeds, seeds and yoga. This is terrifying.”
While Clarkson has been told to ease off alcohol and overhaul his diet, he’s also been told his work diary will have to face a reshuffle too.
Discussing the advice from doctors, Clarkson penned: “Then there’s my work, which I love. I like it so much, in fact, I currently have 10 jobs. I honestly make Elon Musk look like a slacker.
“I write three newspaper columns a week, I have a brewery, a pub, a shop, I host Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, run a farm, make a television show about that and this week, my latest book came out.”
Hinting some of his work projects will have to be left by the wayside, Clarkson recalled the conversation he had with doctors.
“‘Yes well, a lot of that will have to go,’ said the doctor,” Clarkson typed, before revealing his reply was to ask what would replace his prospective axed work projects.
The former Top Gear star revealed he’s been told to replace a handful of work projects, potentially including Clarkson’s Farm, with golf or other less stressful hobbies.
There is hope, however, given that Clarkson hasn’t confirmed whether or not he’ll adhere to the advice to cut down on his work commitments.
Plus, he hasn’t divulged which of his 10 projects would be in line for the chop if he were to do so.
