Liam Payne’s girlfriend reveals heartbreaking promise star made before tragic death as she pens sweet tribute: ‘My guardian angel’
Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has broken her silence on social media and penned a lengthy tribute to her singer boyfriend who died last week.
The One Direction star was holidaying in Buenos Aires with Cassidy, before falling from the third floor of his hotel room.
It was quickly reported that the star had fallen around 40 metres and suffered “severe injuries which were incompatible with life”.
Payne’s toxicology report revealed “pink cocaine” being found in his system, despite close friends being adamant that the star was sober.
The recreational drug features a toxic concoction including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack – with it being reported that the star had been “preyed” on in the hours before his death.
According to Argentinian news outlet Clarin, police are now investigating three employees at the hotel and two women who had been in Payne’s room earlier in the day.
Payne’s girlfriend penned a statement about the loss of her boyfriend two days after his death, but today issued another, noting she doesn’t know how to do life without him.
Alongside a montage of images of the couple, Cassidy wrote: “I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words. I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark right now.
“You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone – millions of fans, your family, friends and especially me. You are so incredibly loved.
“You are – because I can’t say were – my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did. Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into.
“None of this feels real, and I can’t wrap my head around this new reality of not having you here. I’m struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side. Together, we got to be kid again, always finding joy in the smallest things.”
She continued: “Liam, you had the kindest soul and the most fun-loving spirit. It feels like I’ve lost the best part of myself. I can’t imagine a day without your laughter and love. You brought so much light into my life.
“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening, manifesting our lives together. I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444’. Liam, I know we’ll be together, but not in the way we had planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel.
“I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go. Forever yours, Katelyn. 444.” (sic)
Speaking to GB News, showbiz reporter Hayley Palmer recently claimed that Payne was “not doing great mentally” after being dropped by his record label Universal, as well as his PR company.
Palmer explained: “Pink cocaine is a toxic mix of drugs and it sounds extremely dangerous, and I can only think, from what we’ve heard, that he just was mentally not in a good place after being dropped by his record label and his PR company.
