Jeremy Clarkson issues health update as he shares what he’s been ‘banned’ from doing after heart procedure

Jeremy Clarkson has given an update on his health following the heart procedure he underwent recently, which he admitted had been “close” after initially dismissing symptoms.

The 64-year-old former Top Gear star had to have an operation to clear blocked arteries after he fell ill on holiday.

The Clarkson’s Farm star detailed the frightening experience in a recent column in The Times, writing: “The next morning I went home, and here I am, two hours later, writing this and sort of thinking, ‘Crikey, that was close.’

“I have no idea why I had felt clammy the previous day or why I’d had those pins and needles.

“I certainly wasn’t having a heart attack. But if it hadn’t looked that way, I never would have been sent to hospital and fed into that Polo mint.”

After he shared news about the procedure, concerned fans were quick to express their worries about his health, which prompted Clarkson to issue an update addressing people’s worries.

“I’m very grateful to everyone who sent supportive messages but I’m fine,” he assured fans.

“I just have to not do any manual labour or dishwasher emptying for the next four years,” he joked in a statement to The Sun, which concluded: “At least I think that’s what the doctor said.”

The popular TV personality had written in The Times how he experienced some strange symptoms which continued after he returned home.

“I was at the breakfast table and when I stood up to leave, I had to take a moment to make sure my limbs were working properly,” he recalled as he reflected on the first sign something was wrong.

However, he went on to experience further symptoms and a doctor was called to his Cotswolds farm, Diddly Squat, where he was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

“It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way,” he added.

It comes as filming for series four of Clarkson’s Farm is currently taking place, much to the delight of fans of the farming show.

In another recent blow to the TV presenter, Clarkson also revealed recently his beloved dog had to go “under the knife” as well.
