Liam Payne’s funeral to take place in the coming month as friend shares ‘proof he was clean’ days before shock death

Liam Payne’s funeral is reportedly expected to take place next month as an update has been given on the singer’s autopsy – with a friend claiming there is “proof he was clean”.

The One Direction star tragically died after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday, October 16.

It has now been reported that his body is likely to remain in the country for between 10 to 15 days until the results of the toxicology tests are in.

Once the investigation ends, the singer’s remains will be handed over to his relatives and repatriated to England, according to local media reports.

According to The Mirror, Argentinian newspaper Clarín reported that the British Embassy said: “We are supporting Liam Payne’s family and are in contact with local authorities.”

The preliminary results of an autopsy showed that Payne died from “multiple traumas” that caused “internal and external bleeding”.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement: “The head injuries were sufficient to cause death, while the internal and external haemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs contributed to the mechanism of death.”

Payne was reportedly clean from drugs according to his close friends, who have claimed they have evidence this was the case before his death.

The Strip That Down singer was in Buenos Aires on holiday with the hopes of seeing his former bandmate Niall Horan perform on his tour.

His close friends believe he had to be clean as he was renewing his expired US visa while in Argentina, ahead of moving to Florida, for which he was asked to undergo tests.

They added that Payne had spoken to US embassy officials when he was looking to renew the visa and had been questioned about his previous stints in rehab.

As part of obtaining a new visa, Payne was asked to take a drug test before travelling, with a source close to the 1D star claiming: “The embassy said he needed to do a strict investigation including X-rays and a blood test to search for traces of drugs.

“He was completely clean the Thursday before he died. On the weekend at his friend’s ranch, he was completely sober.”

Another insider said that Payne collected the results of his test on Tuesday the day before he died, and it showed that he was clean.
