Great British Bake Off viewers fume as Noel Fielding destroys baker’s dish on Channel 4 show: ‘Not funny!’

Noel Fielding is known for being chaotic on Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off as co-host, but the latest episode saw him pushing things a bit too far.

Fans of the show slammed the comedian, 51, on Tuesday’s episode of the beloved show as he ended up ruining baker Nelly’s dish, forcing her to make her caramel from scratch.

The bakers were tasked with making a pear tarte tatin, which judge Prue Leith had set them for the technical challenge.

The ever-mischievous Fielding bounced over to Andy and asked “is this leftovers?” pointing towards the dough he had left.

He went on to joke: “We can throw it at someone,” before Andy urged him to throw the ball of dough into his baseball cap.

However, he missed and the dough ended up hitting Nelly’s glass jug filled with mixture, and the group watched in horror as it smashed on the ground.

Putting his hand to his mouth, Fielding sheepishly asked if Nelly needed the mixture, to which she replied she did.

Thankfully, Nelly took the chaos in her stride as she laughed despite only having 15 minutes left of the challenge.

Fielding commented: “Oh my God,” before asking Nelly if she had enough time to make some more caramel.

“What are we going to do? Have we got time to make some more?” he wondered, panicked.

Nelly announced she did indeed have time to make some more, and a guilty Fielding began to clean up the mess.

The cheerful baker didn’t let the incident bother her too much as she quipped: “If I’m going to go home, he will drive me home in a posh car.”

Despite Nelly’s laid back attitude, viewers at home were fuming about the situation and took to X to express their anger at Fielding.

“I SO admired Nelly for not killing Noel here. I would have. #GBBO @BritishBakeOff #BakeOff,” one shared.

“If Noel knocked over my stuff I’d be savage #GBBO,” a second agreed, while someone else wrote: “Nelly is a better person than me, I’d have been livid.”

“Not funny. Why should she have to make more caramel just because he was bored?” another asked.

Sadly, one baker had to leave the iconic tent at the end of the episode, and while fans were glad it wasn’t Nelly, many were sad when Mike ended up being eliminated.

In a tearful goodbye, he wished his fellow bakers all the best as he admitted he’d “never bake again”.
