Nick Knowles suffers second shock injury and is forced to pull out of BBC Strictly live show: ‘A devastating blow’
DIY SOS star Nick Knowles has been forced to pull out of the competition for this Saturday’s live show after sustaining his second injury – after being left on crutches.
According to The Sun, sources claimed hw injured himself after falling whilst performing a jump during a dress rehearsal – leaving him on crutches.
It comes as a huge blow for the star and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk, after he injured his shoulder and arm while changing a car tyre last week.
A source said: “Nick won’t be able to take part in Strictly tomorrow night after hurting his knee. He was in a dress rehearsal with his partner Luba Mushtuk when he did a jump and landed awkwardly.
“Nick has hurt his knee and is having to use crutches to get around now. It is such a devastating blow for him and he is being supported by the Strictly team.
“They are sending him for scans and are doing everything they can to make sure he is okay. Nick had to fight to make sure he could take part in the first live show after hurting his arm and shoulder and he did so well.
“This new injury has been a real blow and he is incredibly upset about it. Luba and Nick are hoping it is just something minor and that he can recover in time for next week.”
A Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson added: “Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend.
“As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery.”
The couple were set to perform the Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2 – with Mushtuk dressing up as the iconic bear.
Last week, Knowles and Mushtuk joined It Takes Two host Janette Manrara to discuss his arm injury his sustained, with his future on the show being thrown into doubt.
He explained: “It was raining and there were big lorries going past, I tried to do it quickly and change it quickly, and as I took the tyre off I damaged my bicep and damaged my arm.”
“I just want to say thank you to the two policemen from Taplow who turned up and helped me get the tyre back on, they were lovely. Then I went on, I was like, ‘Okay I have hurt it, but it’s okay,’ and then it got worse and worse. I actually missed my birthday party because of being stuck on the motorway.”
“At this stage, we don’t know if you are going to be able to dance on Saturday,” Manrara said before Knowles interjected: “I’m hopeful! I will find out more tomorrow, but I am fully expecting to go into training and I am hopeful I will be dancing.”
