Penny Lancaster ‘angry’ as Rod Stewart ‘refusing to leave LA’ despite plans to sell Beverly Hills mansion

Penny Lancaster is thought to be furious as her husband Rod Stewart is allegedly refusing to leave their LA mansion, with reports suggesting he has pulled the property from the market.

Lancaster, 53, considers the British countryside her “home” and is “angry” her rocker husband, 79, has changed his mind about selling to permanently relocate to their £4.3million countryside estate in Essex.

It’s thought the couple, who have been married for 17 years, have reached a “stalemate” over the disagreement.

Lancaster works as a regular on ITV’s Loose Women as well as a special constable for the City of London Police. Stewart previously stated it was “time to leave” the US, but sources now claim he has gone back on his word.

An insider told the MailOnline: “Penny has no plans to return to LA, which she’s not a fan of, while Rod has no plans to move back right now.

“They’re at a stalemate and Penny is angry that Rod’s gone back on his word. It’s about saving their marriage right now.”

According to the publication, the couple’s £55million mansion in Beverly Hills was up for sale, but Maggie May hit-maker Stewart is understood to have “rejected two offers”.

The crooner recently had to cancel three of his gigs in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and California as he battled strep throat and later Covid.

His health issues came not longer after he worried fans by commenting that his “days are numbered”. On the initial cancelation, he said at the time: “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me.

“I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.”

However, Stewart has since clarified his remarks in light of fans’ worries, telling The Sun: “When I said ‘My days are numbered,’ it was purely in jest. Aren’t everybody’s days numbered?

“I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know.”

The pair’s disagreement comes after Lancaster hinted at “family issues” on a recent instalment of Loose Women. Calling for the Royal Family to make peace, Lancaster, 53, argued “life is too short” as she weighed in on the divide of the family, seeming to draw on her personal experience of difficult family dynamics.

Sharing her thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s divide from the royals, the TV personality argued: “For me, I’m not judging one way or the other – you know, do I like Harry, do I think this or that?

“I’m looking at the broader picture really, just about the family. We all have family issues to bear from time to time.

“I think it’s about possibly being able to mend some of those bridges, especially as there have been so many health scares within the family.”

Revealing what she thinks should happen in the future, she added: “It would be lovely for them come back together, life is too short.”
